Chevy, Olds, Pontiac, Buick's with Alternator Mounting Style Shown in below in fig.1 & 3 with the following engines, 3100 (3.1L), 3400 (3.4L), 3500 (3.5) and 3800 (3.8L) 3900 (3.9) with the  small case CS130D/AD230/AD237 Alternator. You can now mount the GM Large Case AD244 or the CS144 Heavy Duty Alternators. Replace your small case unit for more power at Idle, greater reliability and more power overall.

A500 bracket

If your alternator mounting looks like the mounting style in Fig 1. or Fig 3 above you can now install the Larger AD244 series alternator Shown in comparison to the smaller units in Fig 2. The larger AD alternator will give you better high output performance. You can tell this mounting type because the front bolt is parallel to the center rotor shaft and the rear bold goes the other direction and is perpendicular to the rotor shaft. The Larger AD244 series alternator has the two mounting bolts that both go parallel to the center rotor shaft.


U-Bracket featured on this page. Laser-cut for precision, this bracket allows for drop-in replacement of CS130D, AD230, and AD237 alternators that use the side-ways ear mount (shown in the installation below) with CS144 and AD244 alternators utilizing a MODIFIED 2-foot 2-inch mount. The 2-foot 2-inch mount foot closest to the front of the vehicle needs to be cut down about a half inch in the back to fit the vehicle's bracket. Finally you can install our Extreme Duty Dual Rectifier CS144 or the Large Case Heavy Duty AD244 Alternator in your GM Vehicle with the alternator mounting type shown above.

If you need more charging power for your 1996 and newer GM vehicle with the V6 3100 (3.1L), 3400 (3.4), 3500 (3.5L), 3800 (3.8L) and 3900 (3.9L) powering the the CS130D, AD230, or AD237 type alternator, like the one shown below. You can now install the MONSTER  type large case alternator in both single and the Extreme Duty Dual Rectifier version or the AD244 Series alternator. Either are the better high output choice over upgrading your existing Alternator.

The installation shown below is on the 1999 Chevy Malibu with the 3100cc\ 3.1 V-6 engine and the Extreme duty CS-144 Dual Rectifier Alternator.

If you have this type alternator on your GM engine you can install up to the 350 amp dual rectifier shown to the right or you can install the AD series which looks more like the original alternator. All you need for this install is the simple "U" bracket shown with the alternator.
