	NOTE: The alternator shown may not look like the one on your vehicle. The CS-144 alternator comes in many different mounting styles and pulley types. The alternator shown is the 6/12 mount with a 6 groove serpentine pulley. This is why we ask for your vehicle details so we can look up what mounting style and pulley type fits your vehicle. We then ship the alternator that fits your vehicle. Special requests for pulley types and mounting styles should be called in.

The CS-144 Is a larger alternator than the more common CS-130 and CS-130D alternators used on GM vehicles. It was used as standard equipment on some Corvettes, Camaro's, Buick's, Cadillac's and other GM vehicles. On many other GM cars & light trucks the CS-144 was the Factory Optional High output Upgrade. We have many common applications available, direct replacement for Lester numbers 8173, 8172, 8112 plus will replace most CS-144, 124 Amp Alternators. This model is also a directly replace for the 85-105 Amp CS-130 Lester # 8103. The CS-144 alternator is a much more reliable alternator than the CS-130 or CS-130D in 140 amp versions. It's larger size and mass can absorb and dissipate the heat generated much better than a smaller alternator. If your thinking of upgrading the alternator on your 1987-2002 GM vehicle, or you think your rebuilt alternator may give out, you should consider the Delco-Remy CS-144 type alternator.
